Piper Spit's Summer View.

Up early so we could revisit Piper Spit on Burnaby lake this Sunday. For normal people the 6:00 a.m. drive would have been a breeze. Not so much for me. I was anxiety riddled by the time I parked the buggy. Anyway.

We were the only two out on the spit all the time we were there.
(The park opens at 7:00 a.m. We were there at 6:00. I'm usually a stickler for rules, but . . . )

Let's  call these our stealth shots?

We're planning on going back in the middle of winter to see what the spit/lake looks like blanketed in snow. But before that, we should probably check it out in the Fall next. Hmmm.

Newton Alley Murals

Sunday morning's weather was perfection. Not a cloud in the sky. There was a steady breeze that kept the increasing heat at bay. We took the lid off the Sidekick and were on the road by 7:45 a.m., the latest.
Big advantage of that is the manageable volume of traffic and the cool temperature.

Went down through Surrey to the Newton neighbourhood to check out the laneway murals.
Took a few snapshots, stopped for McDonald's coffee and muffins and then came home in time to avoid the really intense heat of the day.

Some mural shots_

Yes, he's tall and I'm short.

Nearly missed the door.

Waiting for dad and maybe a treat.
