Another Scorcher

Sunday. Sunny. Sweltering. Sensational Summer Weather! Well, to be honest, by ten o'clock it was no longer comfortable to be out in the sun.
Boy does my heart goes out thoses brave people who work outside in these conditions. Not to mention the fire crews fighting their hardest to keep the entire province from burning to the ground. It's another record breaking fire season and there doesn't seem to be an end to it any time soon. Tragically there have been recent fatalities already. I pray there won't be any more.

Today. I drove. I know, 'stop the presses'! At his suggestion, we stopped to take a few pictures at the Rose Garden. Then we headed off. He sat quietly (I think quietly terrified) while I maneuvered through the nearly deserted streets. We went to our new favourite coffee shop and bakery again today. We need to sit outside next visit. It was already hotter than a baker's oven in there when we got there.

Some pictures of the rose garden.

celery and sunday coffee

This week, I did a little celery experiment that didn't think would be sucessful. Well, so far, the results are good. The next step I think is to actually plant it in soil. We'll see what happens

And now it's already Sunday again, and it's another stunning sunny day. A quick stop at the palacial Coquitlam recycle depot to dump recyclables and a stop at Value Village to donate tonnes of books. And we got in delicious pastries and coffees at our now favourite coffee shop/bakery on King Edward Blvd. A great place to sit to enjoy a morning break. Olivier's.

So, I have a wee dump of random images to upload just to empty out my sim card.

Glen Valley Regional Park

Sunday . Summer . Spectacular weather . God we live in a beautiful part of this great country. You'd think we'd just celebrated Canada's 156th birthday. (its age is counted since its 1867 confederation when it became a country.).

I did a google search about Canada and was amused to find that it seen by the rest of the world as: "...known for its scenic beauty, diverse culture and friendly people." Is that true? Are we friendly people? I'd like to think so.

No real direction as we headed out and ended up in the Glen Valley Regional Park area.
