The Solstice through my window

After the big storm left its mark on our city and the deep freeze has taken us into its chilling embrace I have remained indoors. Not daring to venture out into the -0° temperatures.

I am a firm believer that when there is a bright blue sky on a winter's day, you have freezing cold conditions to deal with, so I decided to capture the beautiful winter blue sky from the relative warmth of my apartment.

One upside of this? As of the 22nd, the days begin to get longer, and warmer weather isn't too far off.

Before the skies had cleared.
My 2022 Christmas decoration.
Ice on the kitchen window. [temp in room was 51°F/11°C].
Clear winter blue sky.
Glass milk jugs on sill of icy kitchen window.
A winter coat of snow.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Was woken up this morning by surprising lightning and thunder.
The snow started about then and
fell most of the day.
Instead of a morning drive, we went for an afternoon coffee and chat.
If it doesn't warm up, this significant accumulation of snow may hang around long enough for people to enjoy a white Christmas.

no one's out on the patio today
slush
snowy blanket
slate grey winter skies
snowy fence post
sun peeking through
a wall of snowy branches
snowy hedges
merry christmas 2022
