Down the end of Williams Road

Sunday morning was a deluge. Sunday afternoon was blinding sunshine. That's winter in Greater Vancouver.

A Holiday Monday Drive

It was a provincial holiday on Monday. We took advantage of that and the gorgeous day it was to hit the road. Just the local circuit as usual but every outing always reveals endless photo opportunities. "It never gets old" is an accurate description of our local drives. The snow powdered mountains were spectacular in the sunshine.

Steveston Village

What an unbelievably sunny morning! You wouldn't think it was winter except for the chill in the air and the absence of leaves on all the desciduous trees.

We headed out to touristy Steveston after our tradional A&W breakfast.
One key to walking the area is it's lack of extreme inclines and a flat area to enjoy - with views that can slow you down or stop you in your tracks.

On the southwest tip of Lulu Island sits the historic village of Steveston, that was founded in the 1880s. It is a tourist-y neighbourhood of Richmond in Metro Vancouver. The village is a historic port and salmon canning centre at the mouth of the South Arm of the Fraser River.

Its 1900s style architecture attracts both the film/television and tourism industries. Some productions shot in and around Steveston: "Supernatural",  "Once Upon a Time", "Scary Movie", "Bates Motel" just to name a few.

Made a brief stop at Finn Slough.
Sawdust barge.
Birds on the wires.
Pilings.
A matching set of Samoyed.

Fisherman's memorial w/Vancouver Island in the background.

Crab traps.

Green houses, getting ready for seedlings.
My first eagle of the year.
Reflection of my P-95 mask in the windshield.

See you again Steveston, we'll be back soon.
