Eagle nest and paintball

With a slightly damaged side mirror successfully reinstalled we headed out for a rainy Sunday drive.

Ended up in Surrey on today's journey, for a brief visit to Fleetwood Park on 80th avenue and 158th street. We definitely plan to make a return visit on a drier morning and when more flowers and plants are in bloom.
Despite a chronic early morning white sky overhead, I managed to snap a few shareable pics, along with a few shots of a - looks recently occupied - eagle's nest, out where a couple of paintball businesses are located - near a beautiful dyke system that is prohibited to the public.

Dandelions

Well, I think it might be safe to say that spring is finally slipping gently into another summer - it sure felt like it today.
There were only a few wispy clouds accompanying us on our trek this morning.

There was one disturbing thing about today's outing, was coming across the never-ending 'Highway Expansion Project'.

According to a sign on the highway, the project will now cost an additional $140 million to the previously approved budget of $2.34 billion for widening work on the stretch of the highway, between 264 Street and Mount Lehman Road.

Here are some of the shots I took. (for the most part, from a moving vehicle).

Rainy Riverview (hospital)

What a great morning! It was fun to watch the rain run the gamut of intensity.
From barely noticable 'spitting', except for the evidence on the windshield to a blow-out downpour that obsucred the view no matter how fast the wipers worked to clear the glass! Intense but short-lived to be replaced by blinding sunshine and lumbering grey and white clouds (that we suspect will regroup and drench us again later in the day).

We were killing time before our favourite bounangerie/coffee shop opened and ended up meandering through the Riverview Hospital grounds marvelling at the abundance of new foliage already creating great canopies overhead.

Another visit is always possible - we manage to discover new things every time we visit the area.

We wrapped up the trip with a stop at Olivier's for our coffee and cookies and a pit stop at Value Village for a new-to-him pair of walking shorts for this summer's trips in and around the Lowermainland, the Fraser Valley and destinations beyond.

Some shots of the rainy day.
